What did you think of this very divisive film?
I really wanted to like it because I love the concept of a neo-roman dystopian society, and also as a fan of transgressive cinema I'm all for directors doing whatever they want.
But damn this has to be one of the worst scripts I've heard in a while, jumping between super pretentious Shakespeare and Cicero quotes (in moments where they don't really fit, in my opinion) and lines like "You'anal as hell, but I'm oral as hell". It was also quite boring at times, I know it's a shallow criticism but that's how I felt.
It's not a total waste since the setting is very interesting, but it doesn't do much with it and it's a shame.
What's your opinion about it?
